January 2003. The number of internet cafes has increased dramatically. In the last year I have seen an increase in email correspondence from Mexico and I now have a number of Mexican advertisers.

March 2001. President Vicente Fox has launched a $400 million, 6-year program called E-Mexico with the goal to make the internet available for every one of the country's 97 million citizens.

Free Internet In Mexico

March 6, 2000   At least two companies now offer free Internet Service in Mexico, Terra and Tutopia.The free Internet service has begun in Mexico, and it is worth keeping an eye out for.

Terra Networks is a unit of Spanish telecoms group Telefonica (TEF.MC)

Tutopia is currently offering its free access service in Buenos Aires, Córdoba, Bogotá, México D.F, Monterrey, Guadalajara, Toluca, Santiago de Chile, San Salvador and Guatemala City. If you are not currently in one of these cities, don't worry. If they are not in your city, they ask you to register now and they will notify you via e-mail.
