Capitan Gabriel Serrano

If you put a premium on experience and local knowledge in your dive guide, then Capitan Gabriel Serrano is the man for you. For decades, the Navy of the Republic of Mexico put the subaquatic safety of its midshipmen in his capable hands. And when he retired from the Naval Academy in Anton Lizardo, it was only natural that he open a dive shop to help enable civilian divers to explore the reef systems he knows so well.

Currently, Capitan Serrano is operating Aventuras Poseidon at Azueta esquina Hidalgo in Anton Lizardo.

You can call him at 297-956-0058 to arrange trips to the magnificent coral of the Veracruz Reef System. These platform reef systems each cover tens of square kilometers of wild-life filled coral gardens. Reeftops frequently break the surface, leaving small islands with the attendent oportunity of taking your surface intervals somewhere that doesn't rock with the waves!

But Capitan Serrano offers far more than just scuba services and a vast knowledge of the reef system. Logically, you might expect snorkel trips, fishing expeditions, and boat excursions - and you'd be right. But how about rappelling? If you have a group wanting a variety of adventuring experiences, Capitan Serrano has been known to facilitate trips to places like Roca Partida, where serious rock work on a 225 foot face can be combined with diving on the fringing reefs! So don't make any cracks about "The Old Man and the Sea". He's read Hemmingway and heard all the quips. But DO put Capitan Gabriel Serrano at the top of your list for recreational adventures during your visit to Veracruz.
