Coatzacoalcos, Veracruz

Coatzacoalcos is an oil town. Refineries and a tanker port dominate much of the skyline and the area in general. But with oil comes money. With money comes luxury. There are several VERY nice hotels in town. And the location is right about the western base of the Yucatan penensula, so the weather will almost never be really cold. Once away from the ship channel, there are some stellar beaches with few other visitors. This is an area seldom selected as a primary destination for tourism. Surprises will abound.
