Veracruz, A City of Statues

I have always been in awe of sculptors. The creation of three-diminsional art by human hands holds me facsinated. Mexico has always been rich in this artform. Nowhere is this more evident than in the City of Veracruz. In May of 2007, I took a some pictures of a few of these statues, and this page is an humble attempt to share them with you.
With all that beachfront and international traffic, Veracruz becomes an obvious center
for international sand sculpting competitions. And my fortune remained with me; I got
there in time to photgraph the winning entries from the last contest.
